Safety Concerns

Safety Concerns can be a serious issue with some Generac portable generators. A variety of Generac generators have been recalled due to a failure to vent adequately from a rollover valve, which can cause excessive pressure buildup in the gas tank.

This can lead to the unit expelling fuel when opened, resulting in fire and/or burns. Generac has reported 29 incidents so far where the generators pressurized or expelled fuel when opened.

Three of these incidents resulted in serious burn injuries. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued a recall notice to address this safety concern.
